Ametco® Manufacturing Corporation offers technical assistance to Architects, Engineers,
Contractors, Owners and Facility Managers regarding the design and installation
of our products. We have provided many custom solutions for unusual situations.
Let us assist you in determining the optimum design for your project. Please contact
Ametco® at the number shown above to obtain our services.
Ametco® is a member of the American Fence Association.
Ametco railing systems utilize the same infill panel method as our fence systems and our other product lines. Panel sections are available in a variety of styles, patterns and sizes. Installation is fast and efficient, and the modular design keeps panel replacement simple.
The railing is manufactured to be both functional and decorative, harmonizing visually with any environment. Radial patterns and other designs can be custom fabricated. Just provide us with specifications for a quote.
Each railing system is built to withstand a 200 lb. load in any direction.
Ametco railings are available in electro-forged welded steel design which provides complete penetration of the cross member, and perforated steel, aluminum or stainless steel. A polyester powder coating, available in 15 standard colors, makes the railings durable and able to withstand exposure to the elements.
The Ametco® railing system can span between adjacent supports or be mounted cantilever
style from structurally suitable elements.
For railings that span between adjacent construction, Ametco® panels are contained
between two horizontal square steel tubes at the top and bottom edges of the infill
panel. This system can span up to 144 inches (3657mm) without intermediate posts.
For typical cantilever style installations, the Ametco® panels are bolted between
steel bar posts, providing a strong, light and elegant railing.
See the CAD details attached to this Profile for additional information. Please
contact Ametco® for engineering assistance when preparing your details.
These assemblies are galvanized and can be finished using thermohardening powder
coatings. This superior finishing system virtually eliminates corrosion and maintenance
problems.
For both railing types, optional handrails offered include: channel, square and
rectangular tubes. Handrails may be finished to match or contrast with the supports
and panels. Wood and other handrail materials can also be specified. Contact Ametco®
for assistance with your custom design requirements.
METRO®: Electro-forge welded steel fencing.
Ametco® Metro® Design
31/32 " x 1/8 " main bar, 3/16 " round cross bar, 2-7 /16 "
x 5-3/16 " mesh. Galvanized to ASTM 123 and/or powder polyester coated.
LATTICE: Electro-forge welded steel fencing. Ametco® Lattice
Design 31/32 " x 1/8 " main bar, 3/16 " round cross bar, 2-7
/16
" x 2-19/32 " mesh. Galvanized to ASTM 123 and/or powder polyester
coated.
STADIUM®: Electro-forge welded steel fencing.
Ametco® Stadium® Design—31/32" x 1/8" main bar, 3/16" round cross bar,
3 15/16" x 3 15/16" mesh. Galvanized to ASTM 123 and/or powder polyester-coated.
GROTTO®: Electro-forge welded fencing. Ametco® Grotto® Design
31/32”
x 1/8” main bar, 5/32” dia. round cross bar, 1-21/32” x 5-3/16”
mesh. Galvanized to ASTM 123 and / or powder polyester coated.
SHIELD®: Electro-forge welded fencing. Ametco® Shield® Design
31/32”
x 5/64” main bar, 5/32” dia. cross bar, 1-21/32” x 1-3/4”
mesh. Galvanized to ASTM 123 and / or powder polyester coated.
See the CAD details attached to this Profile for drawings of each panel style.
The Shield® panel is a climbable Design. The, Metro®,
Lattice, Square Mesh, Grotto® and Shield® Designs are difficult to climb.
Ametco® can fabricate curved panels in Metro®,
Lattice, Grotto®, Shield® and
Shield® Design infill panels. The minimal radius that can be
rolled is 9".
The radius would be perpendicular to the main bar.
Posts can be attached to the structure below in several ways:
In the Recessed method, posts are set into cored holes or sleeves and anchored
with non-shrink grout.
In the Topmount method, mounting plates attached to each post are expansion
bolted to the structure below.
In the Facemount method, the railing posts are mounted to the face of the structure
typically below the level of the walking surface.
See the CAD details attached to this Profile for additional information. Please

Ametco® fencing is protected by extremely effective coating systems, giving long
life with a touch of elegance. The hot dip galvanized finish with a polyester
powder coating gives Ametco® fencing protection from the elements, as well as increasing
its sturdiness and eliminating maintenance. This system gives the best corrosion
protection in the industry.
The hot dip galvanizing will leave rough areas on the treated surface. These
rough areas do not impair the coating in terms of corrosion resistance. The
galvanized product is then powder coated. The color gives an “extra” touch
of appeal to the Ametco® fencing system, harmonizing with
its surroundings. Once you have selected the color from the wide choices available,
it will endure exposure without crazing or fading. For jobs where a smooth
surface is requires, see ®’s
Fixed Louver Aluminum or stainless steel products.
The American Hot Dip Galvanizers Association, Inc. states, “The life expectancy
of galvanized coatings on typical structural member is far in excess of 50 years
in most rural environments and 20 to 25 years plus, even in severe urban and coastal
exposure.”
The warranty for the polyester powder coated finish is 20 years. The polyester
coated galvanized metal remains corrosion free for years.
Performance properties for the polyester coating are as follows:
SALT SPRAY RESISTANCE: (ASTM B-117) Bonderite 1000 steel panels, in a scored
condition, exhibit no undercutting after 500 hours in 5% spray testing at 95 degrees
F and 95% relative humidity. No rusting or blistering on panel face. Under the
same conditions after 1000 hours the panels showed less than 3/16 " undercutting.
WEATHERABILITY: (ASTM D822) After one year exposure in South Florida with panels
facing south and tilted at a 45 degree angle, a high gloss white polyester coating
retains 88% gloss (gloss readings obtained on washed panels). No film failure.
A 2-part polyurethane coat on top of hot dip galvanized is used when gates
are too large to be powder coated. Ametco® Mfg. Corp. certifies that its fencing
systems are free from defects in material and workmanship. The polyester coated
finish is guaranteed not to crack, peel or blister for a period of 20 years.
Accidental damages, defects resulting from improper installation and damage
from vandalism or abuse are not included. Warranty is limited to a prorated
value of the coating, not to exceed the original value of the coating. Or,
at Ametco®’s discretion,
re-coating the panel but not to include labor removal or reinstallation.
