Revisions to AMCA Standard 500 AWV is an active member of AMCA, the Air Movement and Control Association, Inc. AMCA is a not-for-profit association of manufacturers of related air system equipment including fans, louvers, dampers, air curtains, airflow measurement stations, acoustical attenuators and other air system components for industrial, commercial and residential markets. Recently, AMCA Standard 500-89 (relating to the method for testing louvers for rating) was revised. The new standard, 500-L-99, includes methods for testing water penetration under extreme conditions, such as external wind pressure whereas the previous standard did not.
