Solid steel construction is the basis for the Model 1000. Two tough steel
skins surround 2 inches of CFC-free polystyrene insulation. In addition, a
thermal break creates a thermal barrier to keep heat and cold from entering
through the door. Each Model 1000 features heavy-duty hardware for a lifetime
of smooth operation.
To resist dents, the outer steel skin is made of strong 24 gauge steel and
the interior skin is made of 27 gauge steel. The interior and exterior faces
of the door feature stucco embossing and the exterior has shallow ribs. The
Model 1000 is available prepainted in Commercial White.
For the toughest, most energy-efficient steel door, a Model 1000 triple-layer
door includes the ultimate in thermal properties, plus an interior layer of
steel for added durability.
