Perforated Metal

Perforated Metal

PEAK Architectural Perforated Metal

Who we are...

Founded in Los Angeles in 1956, Diamond Perforated Metals, Inc. was the first major manufacturer of Perforated Metals on the West Coast of the USA and contributes massively to AMICO's perforated metal output.

Diamond has built its reputation based on pleasing the customer and building lifelong relationships. This still holds true 50 years later and with this business foundation, Diamond Perforated Metals has grown to become one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of perforated metal. Diamond now has 5 facilities across the USA, in Visalia and Los Angeles Ca., Seattle, Denver, and Chicago all able to offer same day shipments!

Diamond Perforated Metals is a full-line perforating company, specializing in all aspects of the industry ranging from aerospace applications – where exact tolerances are crucial, architectural applications – where attention to detail is an absolute must, to simple machine guards.

What Is Perforated Metal?

An obvious answer would be metal with holes in it. We are constantly working with the design community to create new patterns. From simple rounds, squares, slots, hexagons, to the more elaborate textured, embossed and even image transfer perforating, our massive inventory of perforated punches will help achieve your design intent.

Sheets or coils are fed into the perforating press. All scrap generated from the punching process is recycled.

Each perforating press can be fitted with a unique "punch" dedicated to a particular pattern.

The machines are then programmed or manually controlled to ensure the material is perforated to the exact specification.

Special notches, bends and bolt holes can also be added making the installation or mounting of the product simple.

Features and Uses

Solar Screening...

A great example of perforated metals' ability to help reduce solar gain into buildings can be found in the San Francisco Federal Building. Our perforated stainless steel clads this visually stunning and extremely functional South facing façade.

Balustrades...

Perforated Metals custom nature allows this product to be easily used in Balustrades and Railing infill panels.

Noise suppression...

For areas where noise suppression is required, Perforated Metal's noise dampening characteristics make this material the perfect combination of functionality and aesthetics.

Ceilings...

Add texture and visual appeal to your ceiling by incorporating perforated ceiling panels. This product helps with air flow, allows sprinkler systems to work effectively while hiding the unsightly heads and tubes, and also allows you to be creative with lighting.

Cladding...

Perforated metals' custom nature allows this product to be creatively used in a multitude of cladding elements such as façades, mechanical screens, parking garages and sun shades.

Materials

Most malleable materials can be perforated with mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel being the most common. However, more fashionable, precious metals such as brass, copper, gold and even platinum or titanium can all be turned into perforated metal. Each of these materials has its own 'special' characteristics; aluminium gives lightweight longevity, steel brings strength and copper ages beautifully, maturing to a stunning verdigris.

Perforated Range

A staple design element found in many modern buildings, perforated metals have almost boundless varieties of patterns and shapes making this a highly desired material.

Finishes

AMICO products can be anodized, powder coated or galvanized to help protect and add color to our base materials. Our designers can produce a limitless palette of colors and will work with you to choose the hue that best accentuates your design. More elaborate coatings and finishes such as LIC (Light Interference Coating) Stainless Steel, Anodizing Titanium, Shot Peening and Flocking can be combined with any of AMICO's products to create stunning visual effects.
