Along with its inherent beauty and integrity of design, all Amtico flooring features our world-leading technology: Amtico MPS (Multi Performance System). In total, five layers make up an Amtico floor. Of these, one is a backing layer which provides strong adhesion to the under-surface of the floor, as well as establishing a strong base for the aesthetic and performance layers. Importantly, the backing layer is formulated from our production vinyl waste and makes up 40% of each tile. Then there is the aesthetic color layer created by Amtico’s in-house design team, using a variety of techniques and effects, including digitally enhanced photography that gives our flooring a unique realism that replicates the natural product. The remaining layers are dedicated to performance and this is what we call Amtico MPS.
The super tough layer that provides a high level of scratch, scuff and stain resistance (and makes it easier to keep clean). Our unique manufacturing process also helps the product resist the damaging effects of light, preventing any “yellowing” of the finish.
Engineered ceramic particles provide enhanced slip resistance. It works in a similar way to the technology used in industrial safety flooring, found in the most demanding commercial environments. The particles will also enhance the appearance of your Amtico floor, giving a more natural matte texture, as well as providing further protection against discoloration.
The unique raw materials used in the make-up of the Amtico tile composition are of the highest quality. Amtico is less reliant on plasticizers giving Amtico its water resistant properties.
This MPS layer is made up of very dense material and, as well as providing excellent clarity to show the full beauty of the aesthetic layer, offers extremely high resistance to indentation. Amtico performs exceptionally well in instances of high-point loading (chair legs and high heeled shoes, for example).
The aesthetic color layer is created by the Amtico International in-house design team. Our designers use either digitally enhanced photography with high definition printing to give our flooring its totally realistic appearance, or a variety of techniques and effects to create our innovative portfolio.
