Reflective coatings. Pyrolytic reflective
coatings are designed to be used on the #2
glass surface — but are durable enough to be
installed on the #1 surface (but not recommended).
Benefits of reflective products include:
- Significantly reduced solar heat gain, making
interior spaces cooler and more comfortable.
- Lower capital costs for air conditioning systems
as well as operating costs.
- A monolithic appearance for a building due to
the uniform appearance of vision and spandrels.
The Stopsol range of solar protection glasses
is comprised of three coatings, which produce
three distinct reflective product lines:
- Classic: silver glass with a slightly amber
reflection
- Supersilver: glass with a silver, slightly
bluish reflection
- Silverlight: glass with a lower degree of
reflection and a bluish hue
The final appearance of the glass will depend on
the base glass (Clear, Green, Gray, Bronze or Dark
Blue) and the coating (Classic, Supersilver or
Silverlight). If the coating is placed on the #1
surface, the appearance will be influenced by the
surrounding environment and will have an
increased level of reflection; if it is placed on the
#2 surface, then the appearance will be more
influenced by the color of the base glass.
