A & S Steel Heavy Intermediates are so flexible in design and manufacture that they are constantly specified for doors as well as windows, both interior and exterior. A popular use of this unit is for terrace doors in luxury buildings. The look of the Series 500 windows is complimented by the Series 500 door. All A & S Windows are solid welded construction. This provides for a stronger and more lasting window or door while providing elegance for the most sophisticated client.

Frame, meeting rail and ventilator member shall be at least 1 7/16" deep, not less than 1/8" thick, hot rolled shapes made from new billet steel. Muntins, when required, shall be 1 7/16” deep. Sections shall be solid one piece with flanges rolled integral at the mill. Operable portions of the window have an integral groove in the vent section for weather strip. All weathering surfaces of members shall have continuous parallel contact. Windows can be either inside glazed or outside glazed; putty glazed or with continuous screw applied glazing bead. Specify desired glazing.
The combined weight of frame and ventilator to be not less than 4.2 lbs. per lineal foot.
Frame and ventilator corners shall be mitered and welded. All welds to be ground smooth on all exposed and contact surfaces. When specified, muntin bars shall be accurately coped and welded into place. Windows, mullions and covers to be given one factory applied dip coat of manufacturer’s rust inhibitive gray primer. Hot dip or electro galvanizing and factory finishes are available.
