Alucobond Plus Material offers the same design and fabrication advantages
as Alucobond Material, but it was specifically designed to address current building
code criteria for high-rise construction and applications where noncombustible
materials are required. It's an aluminum composite material composed of two
strong sheets of .020” (nominal) aluminum featuring a proprietary 3A Composites manufactured core. Alucobond Plus Material is produced in 4mm thickness
in a continuous process and supplied with a mill edge.
Minimum Bending Radius
The minimum bending radius of Alucobond Plus Material without cutting an aluminum
sheet is fifteen times the thickness of the Alucobond Plus Material.
Bond Integrity
Alucobond Plus Material has been tested to ASTM D-1781-93 for bond integrity,
simulating its resistance to delamination.
The following values have been established: Peel Strength - 115 Nmm/mm (Minimum)
No appreciable loss of bond strength has been determined due to normal weather
conditions.
Temperature Resistance
Withstands environmental temperature changes from -55°F to +175°F.
The coefficient of linear expansion is governed by the aluminum sheet.
